It’s Hot Enough to Bake Biscuits in Your Car
How hot is it? The nation has been in a heat wave recently from coast-to-coast. The National Weather Service staff in Nebraska attempted to bake a batch of biscuits inside a car. The results were live-tweeted as they put the biscuits in a car left out in the sun. The pan reached a high temperature of 185 degrees during the experiment. It took 8 hours in the car to bake.
New Car Dealer Sales Are Up
Americans bought 17.4 million new cars in May. That’s up from 17.26 million in May of 2018 and up 4.7% over May 2017. While consumer sales continue to slip, higher fleet shipments appeared to boost the numbers. Toyota, Nissan and Subaru continue to grow while General Motors and Ford consumer sales have fallen by 3%. Memorial Day weekend is the best weekend of new car sales all year and serves as a gauge for the remainder of the year
Girl Face 20 Years in Prison for Licking Ice Cream
A girl who was filmed licking ice cream from an unsold container before putting it back in a supermarket freezer faces up to 20 years in prison. The prank was viewed more than 11 million times on social media and occurred at a Walmart in Lufkin, Texas. Police identified the juvenile seen licking a tub of Blue Bell ice cream. She has been arrested on a charge of second-degree felony tampering.
Miami Police Horse Makes a Break
A Miami police horse decided he didn’t feel like working on a hot summer day so he tossed the police officer and made a break for freedom. The runaway horse appeared on social media taking a rider-free gallop down a busy downtown Miami street. The freedom was short lived. No harm was incurred by the officer in this escape attempt.
