Funeral Home Gives Mom Dog Cremains Instead of Daughter Jennifer Dailey discovered last week a box she believed to be holding her daughter’s cremated remains actually contained dog remains. Her still-born  baby was cremated and the funeral home gave the grieving mother a white box with a bag that was supposed to contain the cremains. Dailey said when she looked in the urn there was a metal plate that read, Butler Pet Cremation.  The funeral home immediately apologized to Dailey and said the mix-up happened when another funeral home it works with accidentally swapped the cremains. Dead Bodies Stored In NYC Break Rooms Employees in the New York City subway want MTA officials to stop storing dead bodies in their break rooms.  When someone dies on the subway or on a train platform, the body is removed quickly to resume service.  Transport Workers Union Local 100, told the New York Post that bodies are taken to the nearest room.  A lunch room, breakroom or employee bathroom.  Deputy Police Commissioner Peter Donald said, “We bag the body and stay with it until the Medical Examiner arrives, however long that is: one hour, two hours or three.”  Union official Derrick...Read more

Gurney Falls With Dead Body Falls Out of Van Police say a gurney holding a dead body fell from the back of a coroner’s van at an Olympia, Washington intersection.  The coroner’s van was heading back to the county coroner’s office after responding to a home death.  Police say two gurneys fell out of the van at an intersection.  The gurney holding the deceased person was found in the intersection, while the second gurney rolled down the street and was found in a parking lot.  Police say there was no trauma to the body and the family was notified.
